#2. Zettelkasten with Obsidian

This video introduces the interface of my research note-taking system inside Obsidian (#2. Zettelkasten with Obsidian). The smart note-taking method is based on the Zettelkasten system. I am switching from Evernote to Obsidian to take research notes because of several limits present in the Evernote system. This is the first video showing you my work-in-progress interface in Obsidian. Obsidian as a markdown file creating and organizing system is indeed very convenient in the sense that everything is local in your disk, you can freely create backlinks and outlinks, visualize your notes in mindmap and graph view, automize the process of applying a template to new notes, etc. I am quite satisfied with the Obsidian system because it solves several problems that I encountered and suffered in the Evernote system. I, therefore, organized my two tutorial videos in one post so that you can compare my experience of taking research notes by using both Evernote in the past and Obsidian at present.

Obsidian is a knowledge base software that works on local Markdown files ( I started my obsidian learning journey on YouTube following Nick Milo’s six videos on Linking Your Thinking. It is a YouTube channel that I learned obsidian basics from as the first course. Below is a list of videos from the sequence of his teaching on Obsidian for beginners.
